Melbourne Airport Flight Information Display Screen T4 Project
Melbourne Airport Flight Information Display Screen T4 Project
Our project included the installation of a new FID screen and structural frame.
The Challenge
There were a number of factors to be considered throughout the undertaking of this project, including the fact that it required live environment delivery, and the electrical and data communications required onsite testing and commissioning.
Our Solution
MAZ Group was engaged to manage installation, however, the frame design was not suitable for end purpose.
MAZ worked with the structural engineer to develop buildability solutions in its redesign and source a manufacturer for the new frame. The fame was then subsequently manufactured and spray painted in-house, utilising ovens at night to speed up the drying process.
We also created hoarded lay down zones for materials delivery from the MAZ storage area during the day for night installation works.
Our Key Outcomes
MAZ Group achieved a range of key outcomes throughout this project.
We were instrumental in ensuring delivery of the project within a short timeframe, through our innovative approach to solution development which helped to accelerate the program effectively.
Our MAZ Group team scheduled airside works at low peak traveller times (11pm-4am), we effectively negotiated permission to work through airport embargos, and we safely delivered the works above the heavily trafficked airport precinct so that traveller experiences were unimpeded.
We stored and delivered materials airside at T3 loading bay during downtime periods, and ensured that all equipment arriving onsite was scanned for sterile entry.
