Melbourne Airport - STCP, Terminal 2 & Satellite Cladding Replacement Project
Melbourne Airport - STCP, Terminal 2 & Satellite Cladding Replacement Project
The Melbourne Airport – STCP, Terminal 2 & Satellite Cladding Replacement Project was a large-scale project that required our team to provide the client with site investigations, detailed designs, documentation, and delivery of the recladding project works.
We needed to identify and remove all existing non-compliant cladding, subframing and packing, and replace with solid aluminium and rectify and replace subframing components.
The Challenge
As well as supplying and installing all new compliant cladding panels, we needed to create temporary diversions or alterations for existing electrical, hydraulic, EWIS and CCTV services. Our team also had to provide removal, temporary relocation, supporting and installation, and final re-installation of all existing signs to facilitate the works.
Our Solution
Our team established an onsite fabrication facility that allowed us to expedite the turnaround of our panel manufacturing. We also adjusted key construction methodology to allow a continued delivery of this project in conjunction with other Melbourne Airport projects.
Our Key Outcomes
Our team provided meticulous planning of the works, to coordinate around the operation of the airport. We de-risked impact on airport operations through our value management and redesign, and we improved productivity driving higher levels of quality and efficiency through the installation.
