St Kilda East Cladding Replacement Project

As part of Cladding Safety Victoria’s Cladding Rectification Project, MAZ Group was engaged to deliver this design and construct cladding replacement project. With the engagement of multiple stakeholders, the team redesignedand delivered the removal of combustible Expandable Polystyrene (EPS) cladding from the external facade, to be replaced with 50mm Autoclave Aerated Concrete panels.

The Challenges

During the demolition phase, existing defects were identified including water damage to the timber framing.

With the project being carried out on a residential street with ongoing foot and vehicle traffic, the team needed to maintain a safe working environment and complete works in a timely manner to avoid disrupting local residents as well as the owners and tenants living within the apartment complex.

The works undertaken were to meet Cladding Safety Victoria’s requirements.

Our Key Outcomes

Works were executed within the programme timeframe, with minimal disruption to the owners and tenants of the residence.

All existing defects were rectified to the satisfaction of the Owners Corporation representatives.
