Terminal 3 E4 Amenities Refurbishment, Melbourne Airport

The Terminal 3 (T3) E4 Amenities project provides a new and upgraded contemporary themed amenities facility for T3 passengers. The facility now includes an assisted adult change room, gender neutral toilet and expanded female and male capacity. The scope of works involved a complete new build of the facility including installation of all new infrastructure such as ventilation, joinery, specialised lighting and detailed ceilings. An upgrade of the fire protection was completed also.

The Challenges

As with all Airport projects, a safe working site was to be maintained, taking into consideration all personnel entering the terminal, with the works delivered with no disruption to other areas of the airport.

Our Solutions

With our invaluable experience, MAZ successfully navigated these challenges and completed this project using a determined approach by the delivery team. We prioritised the safety aspects above all else. Following that, we considered the quality of the build at every single stage of the project and stayed in close consultation with the Architect and consultants to ensure we exceeded client expectations.

Our Key Outcomes

The reduction of operational impacts and associated risks was our prime aim. Working closely with all project stakeholders, certain activities had to be rescheduled around operations. For example, the team rescheduled the pumping screeds (taken directly into the site from apron level) to be coordinated late evening to minimise operational impact.
